GENERAL: In the month of January,the Municipal Assembly observed some activities which include: Municipal Education Over Sight meeting at the MCE’s office on 9 January, 2022, Report on an entrepreneurship training for trainees on Tuesday 8th September, 2020 at the Odupong Senior High School, Ofaakor, Voters’ Exhibition 2022 nationwide from 16th to 27th January, 2022, report on a capacity building training in Geographic Information System (GIS) for street naming and property addressing project from Monday, 22nd December to Friday, 4 January, 2022 at the Assembly’s hall,GSAM holds town hall meeting on projects on Wednesday, 6 January, 2022,Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson on Asempa Fm’s “Ekosiisen Constituency Watch” held at Datus Park, Kasoa, District Election Security Task Force meeting on Thursday, 7th January, 2022 and Hon. Mrs. Mavis Hawa Koomson commissioned an ultramodern Clinic at Adom Estate, Akweley-
TRADITIONAL STABILITY: The Municipality has two (2) major traditional areas namely; Odukpongkpehe Traditional Area and Ofaakor Traditional Area headed by Nai Awushie Tetteh III and Sani Seidu II respectively.

FEBRUARY
DISTRIBUTION OF ITEMS TO PWD’s IN AWUTU SENYA EAST
Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has distributed items worth millions of Ghana cedis to Persons With Disability (PWDs) at the conference hall of the Assembly.
The items which includes wheel chairs, refrigerators, chest freezers, income or capital among others for the first barge of persons with a disability, assembled distinguished personalities at the function. This move backed by the Disability Law 2006 Act 715 was to support people in this condition to better their lives.
The chairman for the Ghana Federation of Disability, Mr. George Yaw Kyei expressed profound gratitude to the Assembly and advice fellow colleagues to put these items into proper usage.
Some of the dignitaries present were, Municipal Social Welfare Director, Mr. Wisdom Yaw Badjessah, Mr. Irfan Hammond, Mr. John Owusu Ohene, Mr. Richard Akrofi and Madam Dorothy Akrofi Nortey.

MARCH
ASEMA FAILS TO ELECT PM

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has failed to elect a Presiding Member after second round of voting on Thursday, 31st March, 2022.
Two Assembly members who contested the poll were Hon. Jones Darko Kwateng, a Government Appointee and the incumbent Presiding Member and Hon. Dina Tetteh, Assembly member for Adam Nana Electoral Area.
At the end of the first round of voting, Hon. Kwateng obtained 12 votes whilst his contender polled eight votes.
The outcome of the poll shows that none of the contestants obtained two-third votes as required by law and the Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr Dominic Agbanu briefly adjourned proceedings to allow the contestants to lobby for more votes.
The second round of voting resumed after the Coordinating Director of the Assembly, Mr C.K Opoku had drawn the attention of the Assembly members about the implications should they fail to elect a presiding member. Unfortunately, the results of poll remained unchanged at the end of the second round .
The M.C.E, Hon. Anita Love Obo Amissah who witnessed the poll was dumped founded . Per the outcome of the polls, the Assembly is expected to convene a special meeting within 10days to elect a presiding member as required by law.
ISD investigations revealed that there are lingering issues among the Assembly Members.

JUNE
ASSOCIATION OF THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED IN AWUTU SENYA EAST MUNICIPALITY CALLS ON NEW MCE.
The Association of the Physically Challenged in Awutu Senya East Municipality, led by its Chairman, Mr George Yaw Kyei has officially called on the New Municipal Chief (MCE) Hon. Anita Love Obo Amissah at the Assembly on Tuesday 16th November, 2021.
According to the Chairman, the visit was to formerly congratulate the MCE on her assumption of office and to discuss some matters of importance concerning their Association.
The MCE expressed her appreciation to the Association and assured them that the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo is poised to address some concerns of the Physically Challenged in Ghana. Hence the need for them to pray hard for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP government to keep them in mind at all times.
Hon Anita Love Obo Amissah said the government and for that matter, the Assembly had the desire to alleviate the challenges of the physically challenged and make life bearable for them.
JULY
TRAINING OF BUDGET COMPOSITE MEMBERSS OF MMDAs ON THE TEVISED COMPOSITE BUDGET MANUAL.
On Tuesday, 19th July, 2022, a training workshop was held for budget committee members of the Awutu Senya East Assembly at the conference all.
Beforehand, the Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East, Hon. Mrs Anita Love Obo Amissah in her address employed all to take the exercise very seriously and encouraged them to apply the knowledge acquired in their daily work for growth of the Assembly.
The move was part of efforts to improve Public Financial Management as stipulated in the Public Financial Management Act 2016 (Act 921) at the sub-national level. Interestingly, the 2016 edition of the composite budget manual for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) has been revised with the support of GIZ.
Meanwhile the training workshop scheduled from 19th to 22 July, 2022 is ongoing in other MMMDAs of the Central Region.

AUGUST
SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE THIRD SESSION OF THE THIRD ASSEMBLY OF AWUTU SENYA EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ON THURSDAY, 25TH AUGUST, 2022
The meeting began with a roll of assembly members followed by an opening remarks by the presiding member, Hon. Jones Kwarteng at the conference hall.
Moving on, the Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East, Hon. Mrs Anita Love Obo Amissah welcomed members, dignitaries and emplored them to continually provide their unflinching support to the growth of the municipality.
Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Amissah noted the Assembly and Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit embarked on an operation clean your frontage recently of which has been successful.
According to her, there are more work to be done but would need all hands on deck for the assembly to achieve its goals. She thanked everyone for their immense contribution.

- Reading, correction and adoption of previous minute
- Mid-year Budget review
- Sanitation status of the Municipality
- Presentation and discussion of executive committee report

SEPTEMBER
STAFF DURBAR AT THE CONFERENCE HALL OF THE ASSEMBLY
Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly held its periodical staff durbar on Friday, 9th September, 2022 to address issue geared toward the growth of the institution.
Speaking at the durbar, Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Mrs Anita Love Obo Amissah noted every institution has code of ethics and we do not to be reminded of.
She lamented on lateness and leaving of office before time among some workers adding that such attitude toward work ought to be eschewed.
Moving on, some concerns raised at the durbar include;
– Unkempt washroom
– Inadequate office chairs and printer
– Banking issues among some workers
-Lack of some toilet facility at some zonal councils
– Insufficient logistics
In his closing remarks, chairman for CLOGSAG, Mr. Samuel Darrah admonish workers to be punctual and work collectively to achieve the Assembly’s expectations.

PRESIDENT AKUFFO ADDO TOURS AWUTU SENYA EAST ON FRIDAY, 2ND SEPTEMBER, 2022
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday, September 2, 2022 start a two-day tour of the Central Region.
The President visited Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East constituency, where he inspected work on a Court Complex.
In attendance were host of dignitaries including Attorney General, Hon. Godfred Odame.

NOVEMBER
UNITED NATIONS FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANISATION COMMENDS MCE OF AWUTU SENYA EAST.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, Hon Anita Love Obo Amissah on Thursday 18th November received commendation from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) for her exceptional leadership in supporting their program held in her Municipality .
Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly took its turn of the FAOs quest to Support the Government of Ghana’s policy agenda to Improve Food and Nutrition Security.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations approved the government’s request to develop a Technical Cooperation Project (TCP) titled “Support to Reduction in Malnutrition in Women and Vulnerable Populations through Food-Based Approaches – TCP/GHA/3703’’. The project was jointly developed with technical inputs from officers from the Women in Agricultural Development Directorate (WIAD), of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) and FAO officers and responds to the priority areas identified in the FAO/GoG Country Programming Framework (CPF).
The project seeks to address the challenges that hinder the consumption of nutritious foods by vulnerable populations.
The District Director of Food and Agriculture Edward L. Koney, said the project would therefore promote the production and utilization of nutrient rich foods including Orange Flesh Sweet Potato (OFSP) and other locally identified nutrient rich vegetables within fifteen (15) selected districts in the Central (Diaso, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Cape Coast, Efutu, Awutu Senya East), Eastern (Kwahu South, Kwahu Afram Plains South, Upper West Akim, Birim-North and Akwapim South) and Greater Accra (Ada East, Ada West, AMA, Kpone Katamanso and Ga West) Regions of Ghana.
Hon Anita Love Obo Amissah expressed her appreciation FAO and assured them of the Assembly’s support anytime they wish to undertake a that will benefit the good people of Awutu Senya East Municipality.
DECEMBER
AWUTU SENYA EAST MCE VISITS WASSEC CENTRES
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, Hon.Mrs Anita Love Obo Amissah and her entourage visited WASSEC centres within the municipality to inspire this year’s candidates to give out their maximum best.
During the visit, Hon. Mrs Amissah implore candidates to read the questions carefully before answering adding that they should not engage in any examination malpractices.
MCE Calls for policy intervention to modernize agriculture in Ghana
A more radical structural policy intervention has been advocated to modernize the agricultural sector which employs a huge chunk of the Ghanaian population.
This would pave the way for the processing of agro products into exportable commodities that would rake in more foreign currency as part of the diversification agenda.
These were contained in a speech delivered by the MCE for the Awutu Senya East Municipality, Hon Anita Obo Amissah to mark the 38th National Farmers and Fishers day at Kasoa.
According to the MCE, “if more investment policies are implemented coupled with financial empowerment through coordinated institutions, the sector has the capability of leading the country’s diversification plan”.
Touching on the theme for the occasion “Accelerating agricultural development through value addition”, the MCE noted that hundreds of farmers in the municipality have been trained in various ways to scale up their production.
Hon Anita Obo Amissah stressed that under the Planting for Food and Jobs programme, 947 farmers benefited whilst 730 coconut seedlings were distributed to farmers under the Planting for Export and Rural Development programme.
She noted further that as part of efforts to realize the president’s agenda to ensure all year round food security, the municipality has benefited from the One District, One Warehouse initiative.
The Municipal Director of Agric, Madam Vivian Turkson whilst paying tribute to the gallant farmers for their hard work over the years underscored the need for all stakeholders to look beyond the farm gate and explore value addition opportunities to expand the sector and stimulate growth.
In all seven farmers were awarded.
A 32 year old Mr. Ibrahim Azomyan emerged the overall best farmer for the municipality whilst Ismaila Fuseni Suji and George Sakyi emerged 1st and 2nd runners –up respectively.
